Zona ant is a predominantly sandy beach in Montesilvano, Abruzzo, with sand comprising over 99% of the beach composition. The area is surrounded by substantial urban settlements and tourism-related structures. The Fosso Mazzocco stream mouth is present in this section. The beach extends 0.924 km and has an average width of 70 metres.

Coastal water body (Acque Costiere) classified as plain shoreline with medium stability. Water body code: IT_12_TRONTO_RICCIO. Beach sand median diameter (D50) is 0.244 mm. Area extends 0.924 km.

Location

Montesilvano, Pescara Province, Abruzzo Region, Italy. The beach is accessible via local roads with parking available nearby. Infrastructure includes beach establishments, shops, parking areas, residential zones, recreational areas, hotels, a seaside promenade, and a cycling path.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent. No abnormal events have been recorded. Marine waters in the Abruzzi area have not presented cyanobacterial blooms. Minimal algal blooms occur during summer months; past records show occasional dinoflagellate blooms with scarce or absent toxic species. The Montesilvano wastewater treatment plant processes sewage from the riverside collector and discharges treated effluent into the Saline river.
