Vasto Marina is a sandy beach bathing area located on the southern side of Vasto Marina at the mouth of Fosso Marino in Abruzzo, Italy. The beach is 150 meters wide and accommodates approximately 500 swimmers per day. During the bathing season, the area offers lifeguard and first aid services, facilities for disabled visitors, toilets, food services, sports facilities, and waste collection. The water body is classified as a coastal water with medium stability.

Coastal water. Sandy beach with a width of 150 meters. The water body is classified as Terrazzi - Media Stabilità -B2 category.

Location

Vasto, Chieti Province, Abruzzo region, Italy. The bathing area is located at Vasto Marina on the southern side of the sandy beach at the mouth of Fosso Marino. Parking is available, along with a cycle path.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: SUFFICIENT. The sampling point is located in the central part of Vasto Beach in an area characterized by substantial residential and service infrastructure. Sewage from Vasto Marina is conveyed via a collector approximately 10 kilometers to a treatment plant managed by CON.I.V. in Padula, Montenero di Bisaccia. No direct wastewater discharges are present in the bathing area.

Risks

Potential risk of sewage collector rupture due to pump failure. Marine waters in the area show sparse algal blooms in summer months, with some past occurrences of dinoflagellate blooms lacking toxic species presence.
