A flat sandy beach located in Tortoreto, Abruzzo, with over 99% sand composition and a grain size of 0.200 mm. The beach has an 80-meter width and accommodates approximately 10,000 daily swimmers. The surrounding area comprises urban developments and tourism-related structures. The beach is classified as excellent quality water.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent. The municipality has a separate sewage system serving 98% of the population. Wastewater is conveyed to a treatment plant located in Contrada Salinello, which since 2020 operates a new activated sludge plant dimensioned for 62,000 population equivalents, serving Tortoreto and Giulianova Nord, discharging into the Salinello river. No cyanobacteria blooms have been observed. Rare algal blooms occur in summer; past years showed dinoflagellate blooms with scarce or absent toxic species.
