Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2008-2011). No coastal treatment plants, pipelines, or Imhoff tanks are present in the area. No particular measures or specific monitoring are currently active. The Ligurian Sea is characterized by oligotrophic conditions.

Risks

No cases of proliferation of potentially toxic algal strains have been recorded. Cyanobacterial blooms do not characterize the Ligurian Sea due to predominant oligotrophic conditions.
