A sandy-pebbly beach located 100 metres downstream of the Coserie stream in Rossano, Calabria. The beach faces agricultural land to the east of the stream. The seabed has a mean slope of 7.7% from the shoreline to the 5-metre isobat, with medium-grain sediments. The water has been classified as excellent quality.

Coastal water body. Beach area extends 0.661 square kilometres. Sandy-pebbly beach with mean seabed slope of 7.7% from shoreline to 5-metre depth. Medium-grain sediments with particle size ranging from 2 to 0.062 millimetres.

Location

Rossano, Cosenza province, Calabria region. The bathing area is located east of the Coserie stream, adjacent to agricultural land.

Water quality classification: Excellent. No specific mitigation measures are currently active. Short-duration pollution events are attributed to runoff from agricultural areas.

Risks

Potential for short-duration pollution events from runoff of agricultural areas. No cyanobacterial or algal blooms have been recorded in the past four years.
