A sandy-pebbly beach located 200 meters north of the Amato River mouth in the Gizzeria-Lamezia Terme coastal area. The beach features a geomorphological classification as a alluvial plain coast with an average seafloor slope of 1.3% from the waterline to the 5-meter isobath. Water quality is classified as sufficient. The bathing area extends 0.854 square kilometers and is situated in front of the San Pietro Lametino industrial zone.

Location

Lamezia Terme, Catanzaro Province, Calabria Region. The bathing area is positioned in front of the San Pietro Lametino industrial zone near the mouth of the Torrente Baroniello.

Water quality classification: sufficient. Monitoring authority includes Calabria Region, municipality, ASP, emergency services (118), and Arpacal. No specific active pollution control measures are currently in place.

Risks

Torrente Baroniello mouth identified as a pollution source. Short-duration pollution events characterized by surface runoff from industrial areas have been identified. No cyanobacterial proliferation events recorded in the previous four years. No macroalgal or phytoplankton proliferation events recorded.
