This bathing water area is located 250 metres upstream-left of the Fosso Castel Secco mouth on a pebble beach. The area is situated near an urbanised zone with significant extension and is adjacent to nearby streams and ditches. The bathing area extends 175 metres along the coast.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Elevated (95th and 90th percentile assessment). Shellfish farming is present. No active specific monitoring for pollutant concentration and dispersion is currently in place during the bathing season. Two urban treatment plants with capacity exceeding 2000 population equivalents are active in the reference municipality.

Risks

Mouths of streams and ditches in proximity. Adjacent significant urbanised area. Short-term pollution event characterisation and source identification are still under study with regards to appropriate modelling approaches. The area is not subject to harmful microalgae or macroalgae blooms.
