Water Quality

Water quality classification: elevato (excellent). No specific monitoring programmes for pollutant concentration and diffusion are currently active during the bathing season. Two urban wastewater treatment plants with capacity exceeding 2,000 population equivalents are operational in the reference municipality.

Risks

Shellfish farming (mollusc culture) identified as a potential pollution source. The beach is not subject to blooms of macroalgae or potentially toxic microalgae. Short-duration pollution events are still under study regarding adequate modelling approaches.
