Location

Cagnano Varano municipality, Foggia province, Puglia region, Italy. The bathing area is situated at the western limit of the Foce Capoiale canal port.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2017–2020). The potential source of point-source pollution is the Foce Capoiale canal port located at the western boundary of the bathing area. No direct wastewater discharges to the sea are present.

Risks

No short-duration pollution events have been recorded in the past four years. No cyanobacteria or algal blooms have been detected. No proliferation of potentially toxic algal strains has been observed.
