A rocky coastal bathing area located 300 metres south of Punta Prosciutto in the Porto Cesareo marine protected area. The water is classified as excellent quality based on monitoring data from 2017–2020. No sewage discharges or watercourse outflows reach the sea in this area, and no short-term pollution events have been recorded in the last four years.

Coastal marine water body with an area of 2.248 square kilometres. The water body is located in the Torre Lapillo hydrographic basin.

Location

Porto Cesareo, Province of Lecce, Puglia region, Italy. The bathing area is located at the southern boundary of the Porto Cesareo marine protected area near Torre Colimena.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2017–2020). No sewage treatment discharges reach the sea. No short-term pollution events were recorded in the last four years. No anomalous situations have been identified.

Risks

The area is not characterised by algal or cyanobacterial blooms. No toxic algal proliferation has been detected, and no cyanobacterial or macroalgae events have been reported in the last four years.
