A pebbly beach located 50 metres south of Fosso Cintioni in San Vito Chietino, Abruzzo. The beach has an average usable width of approximately 45 metres and is classified as a coastal water body with medium stability. The surrounding area is characterised by urban development. The bathing water is classified as BUONA (good quality).

Water Quality

Water quality classification: BUONA (good). The bathing waters receive modest inputs from Fosso Cintioni and partly from Torrente Feltrino. There are no sewage treatment plants or marine outfalls. No abnormal events recorded. Marine waters adjacent to the Abruzzo area have not presented cyanobacterial blooms.

Risks

Animal access is not permitted. Sparse phytoplankton blooms occur in summer months; past years recorded some dinoflagellate blooms with scarce or absent toxic species. Short-duration pollution events are under study with an appropriate modelling approach.
