The Inning/Stegen bathing area on Ammersee features a shallow shore zone extending far into the lake. The beach has a large meadow for sunbathing and is bordered by parking areas near the boat harbor and along the lakeshore road. Two restaurants operate in the parking area.

Location

Inning/Stegen, Ammersee. Parking available near the boat harbor and along Seestraße. The bathing area is situated at the end of a large meadow.

Season

Monitoring season 2025 ran from May to September, with pre-season sampling on 7 May and seasonal sampling from 27 May through 8 September. Next planned water quality measurement scheduled for late April 2026.

Water Quality

Water quality classification based on EU bathing water directive conformity calculation using data from 2021–2024. All monitoring results from 2025 show no objections: Enterococci levels ranged from <10 to 158 per 100 ml; Escherichia coli levels ranged from 10 to 221 per 100 ml. Water temperatures recorded between 12.8°C and 23.2°C during the 2025 season. Bathing bans are issued if Escherichia coli exceeds 1,800 per 100 ml or Enterococci exceed 700 per 100 ml.
