Arenile occidentale - Costa Azzurra is a sandy beach located on an island in a heavily urbanized coastal and lagoon area of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. The beach is situated near urban settlements and maritime structures. Water quality has been classified as excellent based on monitoring data from 2015–2018, with no significant variations observed across bathing seasons.

Coastal marine water body. Part of the Grado–Morgo water body in the tributaries of the Marano and Grado lagoons.

Location

Grado, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Italy. Coordinates: 45.676711°N, 13.378471°E. The beach extends approximately 1.325 kilometres.

Water Quality

Classification: Excellent (reference years 2015–2018). Escherichia coli: 90th percentile 10 CFU/100 mL, 95th percentile 10 CFU/100 mL. Intestinal enterococci: 90th percentile 19 CFU/100 mL, 95th percentile 29 CFU/100 mL. No quality state variations observed during bathing seasons 2015–2018. No cyanobacterial eutrophication phenomena have been reported. No toxic algal proliferation cases detected. No short-duration pollution events recorded in 2015–2018.
