Armeria is a bathing water located in Cirò Marina, Calabria, along the Ionian coast. The beach features a sandy-pebbly composition with a gentle slope of 1.4% from the shoreline to a depth of 5 metres. Sediments on the submarine beach range from 0.13 to 2 millimetres in grain size. The bathing area extends across 1.708 hectares and faces agricultural territories between the Lipuda Stream and the inhabited centre of Melissa. The water has been classified as excellent quality.

Coastal waters. The water body is known as Melissa – Cirò. The beach has a sandy-pebbly composition with a mean seabed gradient of 1.4% from the waterline to the 5-metre isobath. Sediment grain size ranges from 0.13 to 2 millimetres.

Cirò Marina, Calabria, Italy. The bathing area is situated in Comune Cirò Marina, Province of Crotone, facing agricultural territories between the Lipuda Stream and the centre of Melissa.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent. The bathing water is monitored by Regione Calabria, the Comune, ASP, and Arpacal.

Risks

Short-duration pollution events have been identified linked to runoff from agricultural areas via the Petraro Stream outlet. Cyanobacterial proliferation and macroalgae proliferation have not been recorded in the preceding four years.
