Palazzina Caparra is a bathing water area located on the Calabrian coast in the municipality of Melissa, province of Crotone. The beach features a sandy-pebbly composition with a geomorphological descriptor of narrow coast. The seafloor has an average slope of 1.4% from the shoreline to the 5-meter isobath, with sediment grain sizes ranging from 0.13 to 2 mm.

Coastal water body designated as Melissa - Cirò. The bathing area extends 1.495 square units. Seafloor slope averages 1.4% from shoreline to 5-meter depth. Sediment grain sizes range from 0.13 to 2 mm.

Location

Municipality of Melissa, province of Crotone, Calabria region. The bathing area is situated in front of agricultural territories between the Torrente Lipuda and the town centre of Melissa.

Water Quality

Water quality classification is excellent. The mouth of Canale Lagarrita has been identified as a source of impact on bathing water quality.

Risks

Short-duration pollution events have been characterized as surface runoff from agricultural areas. Cyanobacterial proliferation has not occurred in the preceding four years. Macroalgae, phytoplankton, and potentially toxic species proliferation has not been reported in the preceding four years.
