Badesee Holtgaste is a recreational lake created from a former sand extraction site used for the construction of the Ems Tunnel. The bathing lake has a maximum depth of 8 metres and features a sandy beach approximately 100 metres long. A nature conservation lake is located on the eastern side, separated by a dam, where bathing and fishing are strictly prohibited. The site includes a kiosk offering food and beverages, with showers and toilets located in the same building.
