Badesee Minderer Wald is a natural lake in the Minden-Lübbecke district with a bathing area of 150 meters along the shore. The lake has a surface area of 1.6 hectares and an average depth of 2.5 meters with a maximum depth of 3 meters. The water body is characterized by sandy substrate and natural shoreline structure. Water temperature ranges from 13.5°C to 24.2°C, and transparency averages 1.6 meters.

Water

The lake is a natural water body in lowland terrain below 200 meters elevation. Surface area is 1.6 hectares with a catchment area of 10–100 square kilometers. Average depth is 2.5 meters; maximum depth is 3 meters. Substrate is sandy. The water body is unstratified with a water exchange time exceeding 30 days through groundwater flow.

Location

The bathing water is located in Hille, managed by the municipality of Hille (Am Rathaus 4, 32479 Hille). The sampling point coordinates are UTM E: 484515 N: 5803136. Parking is available at the facility.

Facilities

Lifeguards are present on weekends and public holidays from 15 May to 15 September, consisting of a rescue swimmer and a paramedic from the Wasserwacht Hille volunteer water rescue service.

Season

Official lifeguard supervision is provided from 15 May to 15 September on weekends and public holidays.

Water Quality

The bathing water has been classified as 'excellent' for four consecutive years (2020–2023). Measured water parameters include: maximum temperature 24.2°C, minimum 13.5°C, mean 18.8°C; pH range 7.11–8.56 with mean 7.83; conductivity 630 µS/cm; water transparency minimum 0.8 m, maximum 2.4 m, mean 1.6 m. No cyanobacterial blooms have been observed in the last four years, and no future risk of cyanobacteria or macroalgae/phytoplankton mass development is identified.

Risks

High waterfowl populations result in elevated fecal contamination. Cercariae (duck fleas causing swimmer's dermatitis) are not present based on regular sampling conducted last year.
