Rückersdorf bathing lake is a 12.7 hectare gravel pit lake located approximately 7 km south of Doberlug-Kirchhain in the Lower Lusatia Heathland Nature Park. The lake originated from gravel extraction that began officially in 1928 and has been developed as a recreational area with facilities including a bathing beach, bungalow settlement, camping area, boat rental, and sports facilities. The bathing beach receives approximately 600 tonnes of sieved and washed sand annually and features a gently sloping non-swimmer area. Water transparency at the bathing site typically ranges between 1 and 2 metres during the season.
