Wangermeer is an approximately 100-hectare artificial freshwater lake located at the edge of Hohenkirchen, the main town of the North Sea coastal municipality Wangerland. A beach has been developed on the southwestern shore at Helmsteder Straße with recreational facilities including a beach volleyball court, table tennis table, and seating areas. Swimming is permitted but not supervised.
