Baia degli Angeli is a coastal bathing water in Villapiana, Calabria. The beach is sandy with a straight geomorphological profile and a gentle slope of 2.5% from the shoreline to the 5-metre isobat. Submarine bars and ridges are present in series. The beach sediment consists of medium-grained sand ranging from 0.018 to 2 mm in diameter.

Location

Villapiana, Cosenza Province, Calabria region. The bathing area is located in front of forested territories north of the Torrente Caldana.

Water quality classification: Excellent. No specific mitigation measures are currently in place.

Risks

Short-duration pollution events occur due to surface runoff from agricultural and urban areas. No cyanobacterial or algal blooms have been recorded in the past four years.
