Risks

User self-contamination (autocontaminación) from bathers is identified as a short-duration contamination risk with significant pressure. Accidental or illegal spills, dead animals, organic waste, and sediment remobilization are identified as potential risks. Abnormally reduced river flow or embalsed water volume during drought periods. Livestock in the influence zone includes 172 sheep, 24 goats, and 291 pigs. Runoff and seepage from rainfed and irrigated crops may introduce pesticides and fertilizers.
