Barranco is a coastal bathing water located on a non-equipped beach with restricted use in the Natural Park of Sudoeste Alentejano e Costa Vicentina and a Natura 2000 site. The beach features golden sand and is situated at the mouth of a valley within a small bay bounded by limestone cliffs. The beach extends for 200 metres with a tidal range of 3.4–3.5 metres and mean wave heights of 1 metre. The area experiences predominantly northerly to north-westerly winds.
