Coastal bathing water located on a non-urban beach with intensive use on Tavira Island. The beach features a wide golden sand stretch of 540 metres with extensive dunes and characteristic vegetation. It is situated within the Natural Park of Ria Formosa, a Natura 2000 site, and a RAMSAR protected area. The tidal range is 3.4 metres with mean wave height of 0.5 metres, and the usual wind direction is east to southeast.
