The bathing spot Strandcafé Lindenhof is located in the Lindenhof Park of the Lindau district of Bad Schachen on Lake Constance. It features a large landing pier and bathing and lying raft, offering views across the lake to the mountains of Austria and Switzerland and to the island of Lindau. The old tree population of the Lindenhof Park provides shade on the lying meadow. A separate play area and compensatory area are located within the broader Lindenhof Park.

Water

Natural lake (Lake Constance). Water surface area of 536 km². Maximum water depth of 251.15 metres. Elevation 395.23 metres above sea level. Ecological status class 1 (very good), oligotrophic. Mean visibility depth greater than 5 metres. Artificial water level fluctuations less than 0.5 metres during the bathing season.

Location

City of Lindau (Bodensee), in the Lindenhof Park of the Bad Schachen district. Parking available. The facility is accessible year-round and features barrier-free access.

Water Quality

Classification: excellent (rating 1) in 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017 according to previous EU Directive ratings. The Rhine flows into the lake with a mean discharge of 372 m³/s from a very large catchment area (11,500 km²). The Rhine has an ecological status class of 1 (very good).

Risks

Storm events can cause sediment resuspension lasting 1–3 days depending on weather conditions. Driftwood accumulations occur with frequency and volume dependent on water inflow and flow direction.
