Ocean water bathing site on the Atlantic coast. The beach is bordered by a sand dune system (Grande Falaise and Pen Bron) to the west.

Location

La Turballe is situated in the Pays de la Loire region of France, in Loire-Atlantique department. The commune is part of the Cap Atlantique intercommunal authority, located between the Loire and Vilaine rivers on the Atlantic coast.

Season

Official opening period: 15 June to 15 September. Monitoring period: 1 July to 31 August. Surveillance hours: 12:30 to 18:30.

Water Quality

Water quality classified as Excellent under Directive 2006/7/CE for all monitoring periods from 2004–2007 through 2007–2010. Water quality classified as 10A (good quality) under Directive 76/160/CEE for years 2007–2010. No bacterial pollution sources have been detected. Quality has remained excellent and stable for over 10 years with no short-term pollution episodes observed.
