Location

Le Lavandou commune, Mediterranean coast. Parking available 50 metres from the bathing zone. Restaurants and other infrastructure are located 10 metres from the bathing zone.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2022 season). Compliant with European Directive 2006. Bacteriological monitoring conducted by the Département du Var health service.

Risks

Potential pollution from: sewage treatment plant overflow during heavy rainfall or system malfunction; Quicule stream drainage causing runoff pollution during storms; agricultural runoff from 3 hectares; mooring zone pollution from boats; restaurant and infrastructure wastewater; parking area runoff containing hydrocarbures and mineral oils; increased beach user frequency in summer. Phytoplankton (Ostreopsis, Dinophysis, Prorocentrum) represents a proliferation risk due to organic matter pollution and high summer water temperatures. Pollution events are typically brief (less than 72 hours) and rare.
