Chlumecký Rybník

Czechia River 1 - Excellent

Chlumecký rybník is a bathing water body located at an elevation of 220 metres above sea level with a surface area of 0.12 square kilometres. The beach features a grassy and sandy shore with a gradual entry into the water and extends for 100 metres. The bathing area experiences approximately 1000 swimmers per day.

Water Quality

The bathing area has a satisfactory status. Intestinal enterococci show excellent water quality with a declining trend since 2010. Escherichia coli shows excellent water quality with an increasing trend since 2012. Chlorophyll a meets limit class II with an increasing trend since 2010. Transparency does not meet the 1-metre limit with a worsening trend since 2010. No blue-green algae blooms detected with a stable trend since 2010. Cyanobacteria presence meets limit class I with an increasing trend since 2010. No natural pollution detected with a stable trend since 2012. No pollution from waste detected with a stable trend since 2012. Cercaria dermatitis was not confirmed.

Risks

Diffuse pollution sources include contamination directly on the shore, wastewater discharge from municipalities with pre-treatment at treatment plants (high risk), wastewater discharge from municipalities without pre-treatment (extreme risk), phosphorus leaching from soil erosion (high risk), and internal reservoir pollution from fish farming operations. The diffuse source of untreated wastewater discharge presents extreme risk due to microbiological contamination and significant phosphorus input.
