Jezero Milada

Czechia Lake 1 - Excellent

Lake Milada is a recreational bathing lake located in the Ústí nad Labem region of the Czech Republic. The main beach extends 400 metres and is composed of gravel or sand with grassy areas. The lake receives approximately 500 swimmers per day. Additional smaller beaches at Trmice (200 metres) and other locations (50–100 metres each) are also available. The water body has a surface area of 2.52 square kilometres.

Location

The lake is situated near Ústí nad Labem in the Ústí nad Labem region. The operator is located at Velká Hradební 8, Ústí nad Labem 401 00. Parking and facilities are available at the main beach.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Satisfactory condition. Intestinal enterococci: excellent quality with declining trend since 2016. Escherichia coli: excellent quality with declining trend since 2016. Transparency does not meet the 1-metre limit and shows a worsening trend since 2016. Chlorophyll a meets grade II limit with an increasing trend since 2016. Cyanobacteria meet grade I limit with an increasing trend since 2016. No occurrence of water blooms has been detected with a stable trend since 2016. Negligible occurrence of waste pollution and natural pollution. Cercarial dermatitis pathogens were not detected.

Risks

Diffuse pollution sources identified: wastewater discharge from municipalities outside water balance with pre-treatment in municipal or household treatment plants (high risk); phosphorus erosion from soil (high risk); internal pollution sources in the reservoir from feathers, plant remains and bird droppings.
