Varvažov is a bathing site located in a residual pit of the former Varvažov mine. The water body covers 3.3 hectares at an elevation of 290 metres above sea level. The beach is grass and sand with a length of 90 metres. The site receives fewer than 500 bathers per day. Water quality monitoring shows excellent microbial quality for intestinal enterococci and Escherichia coli, with a declining trend since 2010 and 2012 respectively. The overall assessment indicates satisfactory conditions for bathing.
