Comporta is a coastal bathing water on the moderately exposed mesotidal Atlantic coast with a tidal regime of 3.5 m. The sandy beach is 80 to 110 m wide. During the bathing season, the site experiences average rainfall of 9.3 mm, average air temperature of 27 °C, prevailing northwest winds, and approximately 10 hours of daily sunshine.
