The bathing area is located in the Policastro Gulf, Lucanian sector, at the mouth of the Noce River in Maratea, Basilicata. The area features a sandy beach known as d'a Gnola, which is the largest beach on the Maratea coast. The surrounding area has few urban settlements and limited tourism-related structures. The beach is frequented by swimmers.
