Costa Nova is a bathing water area on the mesotidal exposed Atlantic Coast, comprising two beaches: Costa Nova and Costa Nova Sul. The beaches are located on a narrow sandbank separating the ocean from the Ria de Aveiro, with an entirely urban waterfront extending 750 meters. Both beaches are classified as type I beaches, surrounded by consolidated urban development and subject to high visitor demand.
