Delhovedvej beach is located south of Faxe Ladeplads in Faxe Municipality, overlooking Faxe Bay. The beach features steep slopes backed by protected forest areas including Gammel Dyrehave and Strandegård Dyrehave. It is a 5–10 metre wide sandy beach approximately 800 metres long, bordered by coastal protection structures to the north. The beach offers a larger recreational area with grass and benches.

Water

Faxe Bay (Østersøen/Baltic Sea). Water depth reaches a maximum of 2 metres within 150 metres of the shore. The deepest point in Faxe Bay is approximately 14 metres deep, located about 1800 metres from the shore. Summer water temperature ranges from 12–20 degrees Celsius. Salinity is 5–18 psu.

Location

South of Faxe Ladeplads in Faxe Municipality, along the coast via Strandvejen. Public parking is available at Troldhøje, located at the first road after Delhovedvej. From the car park, a public path leads to the water approximately 400 metres away.

Season

Bathing water analyses are conducted throughout the bathing season. Summer water temperature occurs during the summer period.

Water Quality

Classified as 'excellent' — the highest bathing water quality classification. This classification is based on data from four years of bathing water analyses. Nutrient inputs from agricultural areas and sources from Kattegat and the broader Baltic Sea region are identified as potential influences on water quality.

Risks

Risk of algal blooms during warm, sunny and calm weather periods. Risk of cyanobacterial (blue-green algae) blooms during warm, calm weather. Potential for seaweed (macroalgae) to wash up on the beach during strong winds and onshore winds. Nutrient leaching from agricultural areas may affect algal growth.
