Location

Scilla, province of Reggio Calabria, Calabria region. The water body is part of the Bagnara - Villa San Giovanni system.

Facilities

Showers and beach access walkways. Animals are permitted in the area.

Water Quality

Classification: excellent water quality. Treatment of wastewater is managed by the Scilla wastewater treatment plant.

Risks

Potential pollution sources identified at the mouth of Vallone Scirò and Torrente Oliveto. Accidental depuration plant failures and overflow events are possible but have not occurred in the last four years. No anomalous situations or algal proliferation events have been recorded in the last four years.
