Panevėžis, Lithuania. The bathing water is situated at the Nevėžio River Dam near the 'Ekrano' factory. Coordinates: 55.7338°N, 24.3898°E.

Facilities

One biotope toilet cleaned daily. Two containers for mixed municipal waste. Three secondary raw material collection containers (glass, paper, plastic). Three litter bins. No lifeguards, showers, or disabled access facilities mentioned. Dogs and other pets prohibited.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent quality (2023-2024). Water quality was good from 2018-2022 and excellent in 2017. Monitoring conducted according to EU Directive 2006/7/EB. Water transparency monitoring has been performed. Ecological status of water body: moderate, classified as at-risk. Monitoring updated in 2024.

Risks

Potential short-term pollution possible during heavy rain; pollution typically resolves within 1-2 days. Possible pollution source: malfunction of sewage disposal systems from garden communities and Piniava residents. Possible surface runoff from road with asphalt surface near the beach. Short-term pollution detected 2021-08-09 when fecal enterococci exceeded permitted limits. No systematic pollution sources currently present.
