The water body is classified as river type 5. The beach is approximately 50 meters long with sand and mud substrate, featuring natural shoreline vegetation including reeds, sedges, and alders.

Water

River (Lėvens River). Average water depth 1.0 meter, maximum depth 1.5 meters. Annual mean water flow rate 6.38 m³/s. Highest flow in January, lowest in September. Annual precipitation in basin 522 mm, with highest rainfall in August and lowest in May. Shoreline vegetation includes natural water plants (reeds, sedges, alders) protruding above water surface.

Location

Panevėžys district, Panevėžys municipality, Lithuania. Coordinates: X=55.7794, Y=24.3711. The bathing area is in the Mūša river sub-basin. Maximum capacity approximately 70 visitors during peak season.

Facilities

Two toilets. Restaurant (Cordo) located at the beach. Two waste containers for mixed municipal waste. Three secondary material recycling containers (glass, paper, plastic). Three litter bins. Pets are prohibited from the beach.

Water Quality

Water quality has been excellent since 2022. In 2020, water quality met excellent standards; in 2021, good quality standards; in 2022, 2023, and 2024, excellent quality standards. Ecological status of the water body is moderate. The water body is classified as at-risk due to diffuse pollution affecting nitrogen (nitrate) levels, failing to meet good ecological status requirements. No systematic pollution sources exist; however, momentary water contamination is possible from irresponsible human action. Eutrophication impact is present due to natural or human activity causes.

Risks

Temporary water pollution possible during heavy rainfall; pollution typically disappears within 1–2 days after rain ends. Eutrophication impact on water quality from natural or human activity causes. Studies on harmful algal blooms, macroalgae, and marine phytoplankton have not been conducted.
