Orellana Reservoir is an artificial lake bathing area located in the Guadiana River basin in Extremadura, Spain. The bathing zone is situated approximately 4 km southeast of Casas de Don Pedro, near the Hermitage of San Cristóbal. The reservoir has a total capacity of 808 cubic hectometres and covers a surface area of 550 hectares with a length of 25 km. The bathing beach features an asphalt surface and is well-preserved within its natural surroundings.

Artificial reservoir (embalse) on the Guadiana River. Total capacity 808 cubic hectometres, useful capacity 478 cubic hectometres, surface area 550 hectares, length 25 km, altitude 322 metres. The reservoir bed consists of medium gravel in the access zone and riprap on the other side. Water level maintained above 50% capacity due to the high elevation of the Canal de Orellana intake.

Location

Located approximately 4 km southeast of Casas de Don Pedro and near the Hermitage of San Cristóbal, in the municipality of Orellana de la Sierra, Badajoz province, Extremadura, Spain. Access is via the EXT-1115 road from Orellana La Vieja towards Orellana de la Sierra, then a right turn onto a local road approximately 4 km further. Parking is available.

Parking available. Garbage collection weekly. No lifeguards, rescue posts, information signs, bar/restaurant, picnic areas, rubbish bins, toilets, showers, recreational zone, fountains, or animal access.
