Ex Cartiera is a sandy bathing water area located in Castellammare di Stabia in the Campania region of Italy. The beach is situated in an intensely anthropogenic zone near the mouth of the Sarno River. The bathing water has been classified as good quality based on monitoring data from 2020 to 2023.

Location

Castellammare di Stabia, Province of Naples, Campania region. The monitoring point is located at the southern boundary near M. Stabia (coordinates approximately 40.7042°N, 14.4818°E).

Water Quality

Classification: Good (based on D.Lgs. 30.05.08 n. 116 for years 2020–2023). Wastewater is treated at the Foce Sarno treatment plant and discharged via submarine pipeline. Identified pollution sources include the Rivolo S. Marco stream, emergency discharge at via Fasano/Maglietta (South Cantieri), discharge at the end of via Sibilia, and the active sludge treatment plant at Cuma Licola managed by SMACAMPANIA SPA.
