The De Gaulle bathing site is located on the continuous beach of La Baule in Loire-Atlantique, France, positioned on the northwestern edge of the Loire estuary. Sandy beach bathing site in the Bay of La Baule with a mean tidal range of approximately 3.6 metres. The beach extends 1,900 metres in length with widths of 125 metres at the western end, 100 metres at centre, and 75 metres at the eastern end at mid-tide. Water transparency is good.

La Baule, Loire-Atlantique, Pays de la Loire region, France. The site is positioned on the northwestern coast of the Loire estuary in the Bay of La Baule.

Risks

Potential bacteriological contamination from stormwater discharges through urban drainage systems. Tidal currents in the bay flow southwest to northeast during flood tide and west during ebb tide. Coastal currents and wave-generated currents are present.
