Fakkegrav Strand is a bathing beach located approximately 2 km south of Stouby on the northern coast of Vejle Fjord in Hedensted Municipality, Denmark. The beach is situated in a hilly area with forest and nature, adjacent to the Fakkegrav Badehotel. The western section is characterized by large stones and scrub, while the eastern section features approximately 500 m of sandy beach. The bathing water has been classified as excellent, the highest quality category.

Water

Part of Vejle Fjord. The beach bed is stony near the bathing pier and sandy further east. Water depth reaches 2 m at 90-110 m from the shore. Salinity ranges from 16-24 psu. Summer water temperature ranges from 14-21 degrees Celsius.

Located in Hedensted Municipality, approximately 2 km south of Stouby on the north coast of Vejle Fjord, below Fakkegrav Badehotel in Stouby Forest. Parking available at the beach.

Bathing water classified as excellent, the best quality category. Classification based on data from the last four years of bathing water analyses. Water is monitored throughout the bathing season.

Risks

Risk of algal blooms when light, nutrients, and warmth are abundant, especially during calm weather periods. Risk of cyanobacteria blooms spreading from the central Baltic Sea toward the east Jutland coast during warm, sunny, calm periods with easterly winds. Risk of seaweed (macroalgae) being torn loose during heavy weather and washed ashore, potentially creating aesthetic problems and oxygen depletion from decomposition.
