Rosenvold P-plads is a bathing beach located approximately 2.5 kilometres southeast of Stouby on the north coast of Vejle Fjord in Hedensted Municipality, Denmark. The beach consists of a sandy strand approximately 350 metres long with a large grassy recreational area and vegetation. The seabed comprises sand with few stones and seaweed, though periods may see accumulation of washed-up seaweed in the bathing area. The water becomes relatively deep quickly, reaching 2 metres depth approximately 20 metres from the shore.

Location

Located in Hedensted Municipality, approximately 2.5 kilometres southeast of Stouby on the north coast of Vejle Fjord. Nearest town: Stouby. The beach is bounded to the west by Rosenvold Marina and a sailing club. A large parking area is available. Bus connections serve the location.

Facilities

Toilets, large parking area, tables and benches, trash bins, bus connection. A bathing pier is reserved for the sailing club.

Season

Bathing season monitoring occurs throughout the period from June to August, with water temperature ranging from 13–20 degrees Celsius during summer.

Water Quality

Water quality is classified as 'excellent', the best classification available for bathing water under Danish regulations. Classification is based on analysis data from the previous four years of bathing water monitoring. Bathing water analyses are conducted throughout the bathing season with results published on the municipality's website.

Risks

Risk of seaweed accumulation washed ashore during rough weather and onshore winds, creating aesthetic problems and potential for decomposition-related oxygen depletion. Algal blooms possible when sufficient sunlight, nutrients, and warmth are present, particularly during calm weather periods. Blue-green algae (cyanobacteria) from the Baltic Sea and Belt Sea may spread along the east Jutland coast during warm, sunny, and windless periods with easterly winds. Nitrate and pesticide leaching from agricultural areas in the catchment may influence algal growth.
