Location

San Lorenzo al Mare, Imperia province, Liguria region, Italy. The bathing area is located at the mouth of Rio dell'Inferno, east of an under-construction port. Area extension: 0.013 km².

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2008-2011). The Ligurian Sea is characterized by oligotrophic conditions. No coastal wastewater treatment plants, sewage conduits, or Imhoff tanks are present in the area.

Risks

River mouth identified as pollution source. No cases of potentially toxic algal blooms recorded in the past 4 years. No cyanobacterial proliferation observed due to oligotrophic conditions of the Ligurian Sea.
