Classification: Excellent (2008–2011). Monitoring results: always compliant in 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011. No coastal wastewater treatment plants or Imhoff tanks are present in the area. River mouth identified as a potential pollution source.

Risks

River mouth (foce fluviale) is identified as a source of potential impact on bathing water. The Ligurian Sea is not characterized by cyanobacterial blooms due to predominant oligotrophic conditions. No cases of toxic algal proliferation have been recorded in the past four years.
