The Calamaci stream mouth bathing area is a sandy-pebble beach located in Alì Terme, Sicily, with a predominantly rectilinear development. The beach is 20–50 metres wide with low stability. The area has refreshment points, boat rental services, and free public showers near the inhabited zone. No significant coastal erosion has been detected.

Free public showers. Refreshment points (kiosks and bars). Boat rental services. No restrictions on animal access.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent. Monitoring point at highest bather concentration. Bathing restrictions apply from Fiumedinisi stream mouth to 100 metres north due to discharge from the Nizza di Sicilia Consortium Wastewater Treatment Plant serving Alì Terme and Fiumedinisi.

Risks

Accidental failure of the Consortium wastewater treatment plant. Beach accumulation of materials and waste transported by sea currents (floating refuse). Short-duration pollution events linked to meteorological conditions, tourist influx, and periodic Strait of Messina currents. Wastewater discharge during heavy rainfall from white water streams.
