The bathing water at via Davì in Alì Terme is a sandy and pebbly beach with a predominantly linear orientation. The beach extends along the coast between Capo Scaletta and Torre Archirafi in the coastal plain category. The beach width ranges from 40 to 75 metres, and no significant shoreline erosion has been detected. The immediate hinterland includes refreshment points, boat rental services, and free public showers.

Water

Coastal marine water. The bathing area is designated as C3 – Pianura litoranea (coastal plain). The water body extends from Capo Scaletta to Torre Archirafi.

Location

Alì Terme, Messina Province, Sicily. The bathing area is located at coordinates 38.009318° N, 15.430773° E. The area extends approximately 0.850 kilometres along the coast.

Free public showers, refreshment kiosks and bars, boat rental services.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent. The bathing area has been monitored at the point of highest visitor concentration. Bathing bans have been established from the mouth of the Fiumedinisi stream to the discharge of the Consortile Nizza di Sicilia wastewater treatment plant in Alì Terme and Fiumedinisi, located 100 metres north of the Fiumedinisi stream mouth.

Risks

Wastewater discharge occurs in conjunction with white water runoff from the Alì stream. Short-term pollution events may occur due to meteorological conditions, tourist influx, and periodic Messina Strait currents. Potential accidental failures of the Consortile wastewater treatment plant and stranding of materials and waste transported by marine currents, including floating debris. No cyanobacterial proliferation events have been reported. No cases of potentially harmful algal proliferation have been reported.
