Bari municipality in Bari province, Puglia region, Italy. The bathing water is located 500 metres north of the Fogna sewage outlet in western Bari.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2017-2020). Identified pollution sources include treated urban wastewater discharges from a submarine pipeline and the mouth of Lama Balice stream at the southern boundary. No active specific monitoring measures are in place. No short-term pollution events recorded in the last four years.

Risks

The area is heavily industrialised with potential pollution sources from a wastewater treatment plant with submarine outfall discharging from civil and industrial settlements, and the Lama Balice stream mouth. No algal blooms or toxic algal species proliferation detected. No anomalous situations verified.
