Forte S. Giuliano is a coastal bathing area in Genoa, Italy, characterized by alternating stretches of predominantly pebbly beach and artificial structures. Location

Genoa, Liguria region, Italy. The bathing area is in the municipality of Genoa, near the urban centre.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: good (2008–2011). The bathing area was always in conformity in 2008. A river mouth is identified as a pollution source. There are no coastal treatment plants, pipelines, or Imhoff tanks present. No specific monitoring measures are currently activated.

Risks

The Ligurian Sea is not characterized by cyanobacterial blooms due to oligotrophic conditions. No cases of potentially toxic algal strains have been recorded in the past four years.
