Lungomare Lombardo is a bathing area characterized by an alternation of predominantly pebbly beach and artificial structures in the densely inhabited urban center of Genoa. The beach features coarse granulometry sand. A small recreational bathing area separates the beach from the surrounding urban zone.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2010–2013). The Ligurian Sea shows no cyanobacterial blooms due to oligotrophic conditions. No toxic algal strains have been recorded in the past four years.

Risks

River mouth (Rio del Parroco) identified as a pollution source. No wastewater treatment plants, pipelines, or Imhoff tanks are present in the coastal area. No cyanobacterial blooms or macroalgal proliferation events.
