Galvė bathing water is located on Lake Galvė in the Trakai district near Vilnius, Lithuania. The beach is 100 metres long with a natural shoreline featuring small stones and sand. The water has an average depth of 1.5 metres and maximum depth of 2.5 metres. The bathing area includes swimming and rest zones and can accommodate approximately 200 people during peak season under favorable weather conditions. Water quality from 2018 to 2024 met excellent quality requirements under EU Directive 2006/7/EB.

Lake (Galvė) in the Neris sub-basin of the Nemuno river basin. Average water depth 1.5 metres, maximum depth 2.5 metres. Beach length 100 metres. Water body type code 12030201. Natural shoreline with vegetation including reeds, sedge, and iris in some areas. Substrate composed of small stones and sand.

One toilet available. Waste bins provided. Swimming and rest zones designated.

Water Quality

Excellent water quality classification consistently maintained from 2011 through 2024. Water quality meets excellent quality requirements and good ecological potential status. Monitoring conducted under EU Directive 2006/7/EB.

Risks

Temporary pollution sources possible from recreational and sports activities using boats, inappropriate visitor and resident behavior, and surface rainwater runoff from nearby asphalt road and parking area during poor weather conditions. Lake Galvė connects with Lake Totoriškiai which is located upstream and may be a potential pollution source. Potential minimal hazard from houses, cafes, and sports facilities in the surrounding area.
