Plage des Grands Sables is located on the east side of Groix island, off the southern coast of Morbihan, Brittany. It is one of Europe's rare convex beaches, approximately 700 metres long and the largest beach on the island. The beach is situated on a large sand bank that is distinctive to the site and moves approximately 160 metres every two years. It is a monitored and heavily frequented bathing area.
